It’s The New Thing

Everybody’s doing it. Everybody = Charles, btw. So Charles’ birthday was on Friday. He apparently just recently removed the year from his birthdate on facebook, so I can only assume that he would be very cross with me if I told you how old he is. Hint: he is the youngest out of us four. By a lot. You might wonder what the fuss is about all of this; but from what I can tell, he just doesn’t want people talking about how young he is all the time. Since, well, you know, he’s a law student… maybe I shouldn’t tell you that either…

Anyway, I drew this with the full intention of presenting Charles with a realistic drawing of him that he has been saying does not exist. I then leaned back once I was done with a typical Charles profile, and I thought “something is missing…” And then I drew the arms. So I hope you like it, Charles!

FULL DISCLAIMER: I actually drew a real comic strip for Charles’ birthday, which will be going up on Tuesday. So I’ll wish him happy birthday then… the comic strip is pretty good too, fyi.

Edit - I just looked at the preview for this page, and I noticed that Charles’ hands fit right between the margins!! To someone who takes enjoyment from aligning piles of magazines so that they’re perfectly arranged… this is kind of cool.

That’s…Charles. Doing…a dance that I don’t really understand. I think it’s the asian ritual to ask the god Professorius for the blessing of good grades or some-such. Check out the coffee shop sometime.

Happy Birthday

So… for some reason I have become obsessed with Touhou. Not the game.. just the characters and the remixes that people have put out for the ingame music. The ones that jump out the most seem to be Innocent Key and IOSYS.

Innocent Key seems, to me, to focus more on the perverted but still have that entrancing sound from the singers. This is the first one from Innocent Key I heard called Touhou Sweets. I was certainly speechless and instantly sent it to Josh. Another is called Grilled Bird. The singing is wonderful and music behind it while professional, still has that fanmade feel. The love, I guess.

IOSYS is the creator of the infamous OVERDRIVE song. [Remember kids, always watch in HD. I looked for these for you... please watch it in higher quality!!] I’ve heard very few from IOSYS and I want to hunt down some of their albums to get a better feel for them. But IOSYS sure does stick in your mind, especially if you’ve heard OVERDRIVE. Alice Dere is one that is very cute and a pairing that IOSYS seems to focus on as well as the Moon Group. [Kaguya, Eirin, Reisen, and Inaba.]

So yeah… that’s my current obsession for this week. Never forget your maid dress, your knee socks and your breast pads!
