At the turn of the century, there were four world powers: the Charlemagne Kingdom, the Dharan Khanate, the Commonwealth of Nikisia, and the Tirumarious Empire. The Charlemagne Kingdom, descended from convicts exiled from the Tirumarious Empire, occupied Oceania, Siam, South Africa, and the Continental United States, with two colonies in Ural and Mongolia. The Dharan Khanate possessed Africa and the Middle East. The Commonwealth of Nikisia, a sister empire to the Dharan Khanate, and controlled all of South and Central America, as well as the upper regions of North America, and north-eastern Asia. The Tirumarious Empire ruled the remainder from India, and also contained western Europe and Japan.
The Commonwealth of Nikisia made the first move. She declared war on the Charlemagne Kingdom and attacked the Western United States. Caught unprepared, the defenders were quickly routed, and the Nikisian armies moved through and attacked the Eastern States. Within weeks, the Commonwealth controlled all of the Americas.
The Tirumarious and the Charlemagne, old allies, immediately met to discuss their plans. It being clear that Nikisia would not stop at just the Americas, they agreed to strike preemptively. But first, the Dharan Khanate was closer, and the Charlemagne Kingdom took China, preparing to attack Afghanistan. The Kingdom planned penetrate the Khanate’s forces in Asia from the rear, and then go down on Africa. Eventually, they would attempt to push into the Americas.
At the same time, the Tirumarious soldiers conquered Greenland, gaining enough of a foothold in North America to disrupt supply lines and reduce the number of soldiers Nikisia would be able to recruit. The Tirumarious also attacked the Middle East, but suffered heavy casualties. The Dharan remained the rulers of the Middle East.
Finally, the Dharan Khanate decided to go on the offensive. Conquering South Africa made them the sole rulers of the African continent. The Dharans attempted to retake China, but the Charlemagne held. They then attacked Europe, and succeeded in inflicting heavy Tirumarious casualties and took Northern Europe. It was then that Nikisia struck again….
